West Winds Riding Centre Lesson Program
2010/11 Horsemanship Program
New Riders & Current Riders
Our English riding lesson program is taught by Equine Canada and NCCP certified instructor, and runs all year round.
Instructor is also CPR and First Aid trained.
Riders must be at least 8 years
old.
Between 4 - 6 riders per group.
West Winds reserves the
right to assign lesson horses
and design the make-up of the
group lessons.
Children under the age of 14
must be escorted to and from
the barn/tack area by a parent
or guardian
Family members are
encouraged to watch the lesson
from the viewing area.
Plan to dress warmly from late fall to early spring -
rubber boots will not be suitable!
Spectators are asked not to coach or distract students
from the sidelines.
For mounted sessions, please arrive 30 minutes before
your scheduled class to groom and tack. Be prepared to
stay 30 minutes after class to groom and untack.
Students must have a
safety approved equine riding
helmet with chin strap &
attached safety harness
(ASTM/SEI) which will be worn at all times when working around horses.

Long well-fitted pants (stretch if
possible). No shorts.
Long hair to be tied back.
Rubber boots are not
recommended for winter
months.
No chewing gum or loose jewellery.
Safety vests are strongly advised.
No open-toed or high-heeled footwear is permitted in the
barns, arena or riding areas.
All classes are subject to
change due to registration
numbers and instructor
availability.
NO REFUNDS after the start
of the third class.
Missed lessons must be made up before your next scheduled lesson, or you forfeit the lesson.
Schedules for sessions may be changed at
West Winds' discretion and without notice if necessary.
The following documents must be completed for registration:
1. Session Registration Form
2. West Winds Parent Waiver of Liability (parent signing for child
under 18 years of age, including siblings who may
accompany rider to barn area).

GST included in Prices.
All paddock horses are fed twice daily with home grown organic (no chemicals or
fertilizers) Alfalfa mixed hay. Paddocks have full shelters, automatic waterers,
and plenty of room to run around in. Paddocks may have two to four horses per paddock,
so no chance of over crowding. Pasture horses graze in the summer, and free fed in the winter. Mares and geldings
are separated.
Boarders have full use of heated 70X160 indoor arena, with the exception to lessons, hours of operation are 8am to 9pm Mondays
to Saturdays, Sundays 8am to 6pm. Lesson times may change without notice.
West Winds uses the Vet services of Moore and Company. The Equine Dentist services of Grant Mackinnon, and the farrier services of Janel Ashlie.
All horses are to be de-wormed every three months, by us or you.
Vaccinations in the spring should include a Strangles nasal spray, a 4 way or 5 way vaccination, and in May a West Nile vaccination.
All new horses must have proof of these vaccinations prior to coming to West Winds
Trailer on site for emergency services.
Organized de-worming and vaccination program.
Qualified, responsible owners on site 24/7.
Extra large private lockers to fit all your tack and supplies.
Coaching at Shows: $50.00 per day, per person.~~
Horse Attendance: i.e. assistance for or handling horse for Vet or Farrier: $20.00 per hour.~~
Shipping or Trailering horses to Shows or to the Vet: $50.00 per hour, waiting time $20.00 per hour.
