summer fun and learning. we know how to keep horse crazy kids happy and
busy.
What Makes our Riding Camp Stand Out Above the Rest?

Ages and Experience: Girls and boys ages 8-16. No prior riding
experience for our beginner camps. Intermediate campers should be in a
lesson program, or have a horse, or had prior English or Western
lessons.
Camp Activities:
Beginner Campers are assigned to their own horse for the week, they
share in the care of the horse with a partner. Campers learn to be
responsible for the daily care, grooming and well being of "their
horse". Campers receive one English riding session daily, along with
lessons on veterinary care, safety, grooming and horse show preparation.
Instruction varies from week to week both in mounted and ground lessons.
When not involved in a hand's on horse activity, campers participate in
arts and crafts and games relating to the horse, swimming at local pool.
Weekly trips, may be included to horse shows, or local Vet Clinics, or
tack shops etc.
All Students will participate in a full program of riding and stable
management. Regardless of what level you are at, this program will
improve your riding skills. Stable management will have many
aspect of horse care including grooming, lunging, care and fitting of
tack. Mounted lessons will cover flatwork; introduction to jumping
- or improving your jumping skills for the show ring.
Base cost of camp:
($450.00) 5 day Horsemanship Camps
Monday to Friday 9:30 am to 4:00 pm
A $25.00 discount is offered for West Winds clients and multiple family
members and to those attending more than one camp this summer. (One
discount per participant)

RIDING ABILITY:
Beginner 1 (Little to no riding experience)
Rider Level One (Walk and Trot; simple school figures)
Rider Level Two (Walk, Trot, Canter, Started over jumps)
Rider Level Three (Are jumping up to 2’9” or Basic level dressage)
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
Proper footwear (boots with a heel); Safety approved helmets will be
provided by us if you do not have one, no bike helmets allowed, pants
for riding; clothing suitable, (no tank tops, or spaghetti strap tops),
hair tied back, no jewellery, or chewing gum.
Sunscreen, lunch and snacks; water bottle. Swimsuit, towel, sandals,
shorts, to change into when not working with horses.
Pop Machine with juice and water, Microwave, Fridge on site.
